Flame Sensor
A rod that proves the burner lit by conducting a microamp current through the flame. When oxide buildup drops the signal, the board shuts the gas valve seconds after ignition — the classic light-run-stop-retry symptom. Cleaning it is the highest-value two minutes in furnace service.
